Lawrence S. Eagleburger, former U.S. Secretary of State


Former U.S. Secretary of State Lawrence S. Eagleburger, Chairman Emeritus 

 
 Mr. Eagleburger served as the Chairman of the Board,  Board Member,  and has been advisor to the Executive Board of Project Meridian Foundation for several months before becoming a member of the Board.  Lawrence S. Eagleburger served 27 years with the U.S. State Department serving under Presidents Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush. In 1992, he was appointed as the 62nd U.S. Secretary of State under President George H.W. Bush.
 
 In addition to serving as U.S. Secretary of State, Eagleburger held several prominent foreign-service positions: Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (1971-1973), Executive Assistant to Secretary of State (1975-1977), Ambassador to Yugoslavia (1977-1981), Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs (1981-1982) and Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs (1982-1984). Following his resignation as Secretary of State, he joined the law firm of Baker, Donelson, Bearman and Caldwell as Senior Foreign Policy Advisor.
